89 companies in the PartnersWatch directory run a partner track that accepts agencies, and 53 of them publish some commission term (checked 2 October 2026). The usual model is a recurring share of what your referred clients pay: of the 37 agency programs that state a percentage, the median top rate is 30%. The biggest agency programs, including HubSpot, Salesforce, Shopify and monday.com, don't publish a rate at all.
That last point shapes how you should read every table below. A published percentage tells you what a program pays for a referral. It tells you very little about what an agency program is worth, because for the large platforms most of the money is in the implementation and retainer work you sell around the product, plus the leads their partner directories send.
What the 89 agency programs pay
We took every listing in the directory where agency is one of the accepted partner types, then read the commission field. Where a listing states several numbers, we counted the first percentage it gives (so "up to 40%" counts as 40). Here is how the 89 split by commission model:
| Commission model | Programs | Share of 89 |
|---|---|---|
| Recurring commission | 23 | 26% |
| Revenue share | 18 | 20% |
| One-time payment | 6 | 7% |
| Flat fee or bounty | 3 | 3% |
| Terms stated, model unclear | 3 | 3% |
| No commission terms published | 36 | 40% |
Agency programs are less open about money than affiliate programs. 59.6% of agency programs publish commission terms, against 87.1% of affiliate programs (n=89 and n=264). Resellers and integrators publish even less.
| Group | n | Publishes terms |
|---|---|---|
| Affiliate | 264 | 87.1% |
| Referral partner | 147 | 72.1% |
| Integrator / MSP | 100 | 44% |
| Agency | 89 | 59.6% |
| Reseller | 87 | 48.3% |
| Franchisee | 42 | 54.8% |
| Agent / broker * | 14 | 57.1% |
| Distributor * | 12 | 25% |
| Location operator * | 3 | 33.3% |
* Fewer than 15 programs in this group: indicative only.
Two things to keep in mind about those percentages. First, the agency tracks of most of these companies sit alongside an affiliate or referral track, and the published rate is sometimes the affiliate rate. Where a listing says the number is specifically for agencies, we say so in the table below. Second, "revenue share" and "recurring" overlap in practice. Both mean you earn a slice of the client's ongoing bill; the label is just the one the brand uses.
Agency programs that publish a rate
These are the agency-accepting programs with the clearest published terms. Every row comes from the brand's own partner page as recorded in our directory listing.
| Program | What the page says agencies earn | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Survicate | Agency up to 40% | Separate affiliate (20% for 1 year) and ambassador tracks; free subscription for agencies |
| Jotform | 30% lifetime on the agency track | Affiliates get 30% recurring; resellers get up to 30% off Enterprise |
| Close | 30% of first-year revenue | One plan covers affiliates, agencies and integrators |
| Keap | Up to 30% recurring for certified partners | Certification is the gate to the top rate |
| Wix Studio | 20%+ revenue share on every Wix Studio Premium site | Marketplace leads and a Partner Success Manager |
| Wistia | 20% of first-year revenue for agencies | Affiliate options listed separately |
| Netlify | 20% revenue share for 12 to 24 months | Certified partner track; no Netlify account needed to apply |
| Gorgias | 20% of referral payments for the first two years | Higher rates at upper tiers |
| Salesmsg | 15% for 12 months; 20% for 24 months for Experts | W-9 or W-8BEN needed before the first payout |
| ServiceM8 | $500 referral bonus plus up to 20% ongoing revenue share | You set your own rates for setup and training |
| DigitalOcean | Up to a 25% margin | Margin model aimed at MSPs, agencies and ISVs |
| Plesk | Partner discounts up to 45% | Discount model for hosting resellers |
| Whale | Up to 25% recurring lifetime commission | Agencies and agents both accepted |
| Charlie AI | 10% revenue share, lifetime | Low rate, but it doesn't stop |
A few more state a model without a number. Sprout Social pays referral revenue based on annual contract value, Customer.io pays a tiered revenue share, Intercom pays commission on referred clients, and Mollie pays referral bonuses plus seasonal campaign rewards. In each case the rate isn't on the page, so ask for it in writing before you send the first client.
Revenue share, margin or referral fee: the arithmetic
The model matters more than the headline rate. Say a client pays $800 a month for a tool. Here's what three common structures are worth over three years if the client stays:
| Structure | Year 1 | Years 1 to 3 |
|---|---|---|
| 20% of first-year revenue | 0.20 × $9,600 = $1,920 | $1,920 |
| 20% for 24 months | $1,920 | 0.20 × $19,200 = $3,840 |
| 10% for life | 0.10 × $9,600 = $960 | 0.10 × $28,800 = $2,880 |
| 30% for life | 0.30 × $9,600 = $2,880 | 0.30 × $28,800 = $8,640 |
A capped 20% beats a lifetime 10% until the client has been around for a while; with this example the lifetime deal only catches up with a 24-month cap in month 48. Agencies tend to keep clients for years, which is why lifetime terms are worth more to you than to an affiliate whose referrals churn.
Margin programs work differently. With a discount model like Plesk's or DigitalOcean's you buy at a lower price, then bill the client yourself. You earn more per client and control the price, but you also own the invoice, the collection risk and the tax handling. If that's the route you're weighing, read our SaaS reseller programs guide first.
Best programs for marketing agencies
Marketing agencies get the most from programs where the product is something you run for the client every month: email, CRM, social, SMS and feedback tools. Those are the programs where you keep the account and the retainer.
- HubSpot Solutions Partner Program is the default for agencies doing CRM, marketing and web work for mid-market clients. Tiers run up to Elite as your HubSpot client base grows. It doesn't publish a commission rate on its partner page; our HubSpot partner guide covers how the tiers work in more detail.
- K:Partners, Klaviyo's agency and technology program, lists training and certifications, in-product visibility for agencies and App Marketplace distribution to 193,000+ brands. See the Klaviyo partner program guide.
- Mailchimp & Co is free and built for freelancers and agencies managing Mailchimp for clients. Experts Directory listing and 24/7 priority support start at the Partner level; a partner manager comes at Pro Partner.
- ActiveCampaign is one of the few marketing programs that lists direct client billing and white-label options, which matters if you'd rather bill clients for the software yourself.
- Sprout Social gives agencies free client account access and pays on annual contract value.
- Postscript pays a monthly commission for the first 12 months of each referral, and offers a partner certification. It suits Shopify-focused retention agencies.
- Survicate has the highest agency rate we've recorded for a marketing tool (up to 40%).
Best programs for web and dev agencies
Web and development shops are usually paid less in commission and more in leads. The big platforms run partner directories that clients browse to find someone to build their store or site, and a good listing there can be worth more than any percentage.
Shopify is the obvious one: APIs, docs, a developer community and the Built for Shopify program, though no commission rate on the page we checked (our Shopify partner guide covers the routes in). Wix Studio is the opposite case, with a published revenue share on Premium sites plus Marketplace leads. Squarespace Circle is tiered: Silver is free, Gold and Platinum need active subscriptions, and Experts status requires 8 sites in a year. Its perks are mostly about your clients' costs (10–25% discount on annual subscriptions, 3–12 month extended trials).
For developer platforms, Vercel offers a Partner Finder listing and priority technical support, Netlify publishes a 20% revenue share, and Supabase wants either a real integration or a record of building on Supabase for clients before it accepts you. Webflow runs an affiliate program rather than an agency track in our directory, so check whether your work fits it before applying.
Best programs for CRM, RevOps and ops consultancies
Consultancies that implement systems get paid mostly in services. The partner program's job is to send you deals and prove you're qualified.
- Salesforce runs a Consulting Track for implementers, separate from its ISV track. Our Salesforce partner guide goes through it.
- monday.com is free to join but requires certifications after acceptance. It lists a dedicated partner manager, market development funds and a partner directory listing.
- Airtable is free: you apply, then complete assigned training and testing for accreditation. It lists lead referrals and subcontracting opportunities, which is unusual and useful for smaller firms.
- Intercom asks for an application, an intro call and a signed partner agreement, and lists access to 30,000+ Intercom customers.
- Teamwork.com lists deal registration, which protects a deal you've found from being claimed by someone else.
- Close and Keap are the CRM options with published rates.
How agency tiers work
Most large agency programs grade partners into tiers and attach better terms to the higher ones. The names vary (Google Cloud uses Select, Premier and Diamond; HubSpot runs up to Elite; Squarespace uses Silver, Gold and Platinum), but tier rules nearly always count some mix of client revenue you've brought in, the number of active clients, certified staff and activity such as registered deals.
Across the 78 agency programs that list any benefits, training or certification and a partner portal each appear in 29.5%, directory listings or lead sharing in 24.4%, a dedicated partner manager in 21.8% and co-marketing or market development funds in 20.5%. Tiered rewards are listed by only 6.4%, which says more about how little programs publish than about how rare tiers are.
Before you plan around a tier, find out:
- Whether requirements are measured quarterly, yearly or on a rolling 12 months.
- Whether a higher rate applies to existing clients or only new ones.
- What happens if you miss the target for one period.
- How a client gets attributed to you when they were already a customer, or another agency touched the deal.
The fourth question causes the most arguments. Ask whether the program has deal registration and a way to link existing client accounts to your agency.
How to get accepted
Agency programs filter harder than affiliate programs. Of the 22 agency programs whose listings state requirements, 36.4% mention an application review and 13.6% require certification or training. In practice that means:
- Apply with real client work on the product, or a clear plan for it. Supabase and Jasper both say you need to build on, or already know, the product.
- Certify the people who deliver the work, not just the account lead. monday.com and Keap tie access or rates to certification.
- Expect a call. Intercom requires one, and most programs without a self-serve form will want to hear what kind of clients you serve.
- Some programs exclude individuals. The Jasper AI Solutions Partner Program says individual affiliates aren't eligible.
Don't join everything. Each program adds certifications to renew, a portal to check and product changes to keep up with. Pick the three or four tools your clients already pay for, and drop any that cost you more hours than they return after a couple of quarters.

You can also filter the directory by agency programs, or look at integrator programs if you build technical integrations rather than run client accounts. If you advise more than you implement, referral partner programs for consultants will fit better.
If you're the vendor building an agency channel, the hard parts are attribution, tiers partners can see and trust, and lead routing. Our deal registration feature handles the first one (it's our product).
FAQ
What is an agency partner program?
An agency partner program pays and supports agencies that sell, implement or manage a vendor's product for clients. Pay is usually a recurring share of the client's bill, sometimes a margin if you resell. The other benefits, such as partner directory listings, certifications, sandboxes and a partner manager, are often worth more than the commission.
How much do agency partner programs pay?
Of the 37 agency programs in our directory that state a percentage, the median top rate is 30%, and the middle half sit between 20% and 30%. Many of the largest programs, including HubSpot, Salesforce and Shopify, don't publish a rate. Ask for the rate in writing before you refer anyone.
Which agency partner programs pay recurring commission?
Of the 53 agency programs that publish terms, 23 describe recurring commission and 18 a revenue share, which works the same way. Jotform (30% lifetime on the agency track), Whale (up to 25% lifetime) and Charlie AI (10% lifetime) don't cap the period. Most others stop at 12 or 24 months.
Is it better to resell or take a revenue share?
Revenue share is less work: the vendor bills the client and you get paid a cut. Reselling earns more per client and lets you set the price, but you take on billing, collection and tax. Pick reselling only if you already invoice clients for software and can absorb a client who doesn't pay.
Do agency partner programs cost money to join?
Most of the ones we track are free. Mailchimp & Co, Airtable and monday.com say so on their pages. Some tiers carry indirect costs: Squarespace Circle's Gold and Platinum tiers need active subscriptions, and certifications take staff time even when the exam is free.
How many agency partner programs should we join?
Three or four, chosen from the tools your clients already pay for. Each program brings certifications to renew, portals to check and attribution to track, and a tier you can't reach is worth little. Review income, leads and hours spent each quarter and drop the programs that don't pay their way.
