Royalties & sales reporting
Set your fee rules once: a percentage royalty on reported gross sales, a brand or marketing fund, fixed monthly tech fees, and the initial franchise fee. Locations submit sales reports through the portal, the API, or a CSV upload, fees are calculated from each report, invoices are issued automatically, and missing reports are flagged late.
Royalty day is a week of chasing reports and rebuilding invoices
Sales figures arrive by email, as spreadsheets, or not at all. Someone keys them into a sheet, applies the royalty and fund rates by hand, builds the invoices, and then follows up on the locations that never reported. Errors are found months later, during an audit.
The flow, end to end
Configure
Set the royalty rate, fund rate, fixed fees, initial fee, and reporting period.
Report
Each location submits gross sales for the period by form, API, or CSV.
Invoice
Fees are calculated from the report and an invoice is issued automatically.
Follow up
Late reports are flagged, and a reminder playbook can chase them.
What's in the box
Percent-of-sales royalty
A royalty rate on reported gross sales, set per agreement.
Brand & marketing fund
A separate fund contribution, tracked and reported on its own.
Fixed recurring fees
Monthly technology or software fees billed alongside the royalty.
Initial franchise fee
A one-time fee charged when the agreement is signed or the location opens.
Three ways to report
Franchisees submit sales through a portal form, the API (straight from the POS), or a CSV upload.
Automatic invoices & late flags
Each accepted report produces an invoice; a missed due date flags the location as late.
Take the report however the location can send it
Some locations type numbers into a form, some upload a CSV from their accounting tool, and some connect their point-of-sale system to the API. All three land as the same sales report on the location, with who submitted it and when, so the royalty math always starts from one record.
- ✓Portal form, CSV upload, or API submission
- ✓One sales-report record per location per period
- ✓Who submitted each report, and when, stays on the record
Royalties, fund, and fixed fees on one invoice
Fee rules are attached to the agreement. When a report is accepted, the royalty and fund are calculated from its gross sales, fixed fees are added, and the invoice is issued. Money is held in integer minor units on the same ledger as the rest of the platform, and rollups show royalties collected by location, district, and region.
- ✓Royalty and fund calculated from reported gross sales
- ✓Fixed tech fees and one-time initial fees on the same rules
- ✓Late-report flags and reminder playbooks
