There are two ways to become a HubSpot partner. If you publish content or run an audience, join the HubSpot Affiliate Program: it pays 30% recurring commission for up to one year, up to $1,000+ per sale, with a 180-day cookie. If you run an agency or consultancy that sells and implements HubSpot for clients, apply to the HubSpot Solutions Partner Program instead, which rewards you through tiers as your HubSpot client base grows.
Most people searching "HubSpot partner" mean the second one and end up reading about the first. They are different businesses. Picking the wrong one costs you months.
PartnersWatch isn't affiliated with HubSpot. Terms below come from HubSpot's own partner pages as listed in our directory, last checked October 2026. HubSpot changes its programs, so confirm on the program page before you plan around a number.

Route 1: the HubSpot Affiliate Program
This is the easy door. HubSpot says you don't need to be a customer, there's no minimum sales requirement, and applications get reviewed in two to three business days. What they want to see is content aimed at growing businesses.
What the commission actually looks like
The listing reads: "30% recurring commission for up to one year (up to $1,000+ per sale); custom commission at Elite tier." Unpack that and you get three things:
- It's recurring, but capped at twelve months. You get paid every billing cycle for a year, then it stops. It's not lifetime.
- The $1,000+ figure is the ceiling on a sale. It isn't what a typical starter plan earns. A small team on an entry plan pays you far less. The big numbers come from referrals that land on Professional or Enterprise seats.
- Tiers matter. Higher tiers add a dedicated affiliate manager and website audit tips, and the top (Elite) tier moves to custom commission.
The 180-day cookie is long, and that suits HubSpot. B2B buyers read a comparison post in March, sit through a demo in May and sign in June. A 30-day cookie would miss most of those. 180 days catches a lot of them.
Who does well with it
Affiliates who write for buyers already shopping for a CRM do best. Think "best CRM for agencies" roundups, marketing-automation tutorials and YouTube walkthroughs. A generic marketing blog with mostly beginner traffic will see a lot of free sign-ups and very little commission, because HubSpot's free tier is good enough for those readers.
How to apply
- Pick the page or channel you'll promote from. HubSpot reviews your content, so make sure it is visible and on topic.
- Apply through the Impact link on the listing.
- Once approved, use the resource center for links and creative, and set up reporting so you can see which pages convert.
If you want comparisons, Pipedrive's affiliate program pays 20% of a customer's first 12 months at its entry tier and 30% at its Growth tier, with a 90-day cookie. Close's partner program pays 30% of first-year revenue. Most CRM affiliates run two or three of these side by side.
Route 2: the HubSpot Solutions Partner Program
This is the agency track. HubSpot describes it as being for "agencies, consultancies and service firms that deliver marketing, sales, CRM, web and AI transformation work on HubSpot," mainly for mid-market clients. Partners move up tiers, up to Elite, as their HubSpot client base grows.
HubSpot doesn't publish the tier thresholds or revenue share on the page we list, so we won't quote figures. Here's what matters more anyway: the commission is not the business. Agencies on this track make their money from services: onboarding, CRM migrations, automation builds, retainers. The partner relationship mostly gets you credibility, a directory listing, deals sent your way at higher tiers and a line to HubSpot's partner team.
What to have ready before you apply
- A real HubSpot practice, even a small one. Two or three clients you've onboarded beats a slide deck. HubSpot is looking for firms that can deliver.
- Certified people. HubSpot puts a lot of weight on training. Get your team through the relevant certifications before you apply, not after.
- A clear service menu. Say what you sell: implementation, migration, RevOps, website on HubSpot CMS. Vague "digital marketing" agencies get less out of the program.
- Case studies with numbers your clients are happy to share.
Common mistakes
- Joining as an affiliate when you're an agency. It works on paper. But you give up tier benefits and leads, and you train clients to think of you as a reseller with a link instead of their implementation partner.
- Chasing tiers before margin. Higher tiers reward growth in HubSpot business. If every new client is under-scoped, you'll climb tiers and lose money doing it.
- One ecosystem only. Plenty of HubSpot agencies also hold Mailchimp, Zoho or monday.com partnerships so they can fit the tool to the client. Our agency partner programs guide compares those.
Affiliate or Solutions Partner: how to decide
Ask yourself one question: do you touch the client's portal after they buy?
- No. You recommend, they buy, you move on. That's the affiliate track.
- Yes. You set it up, migrate data, build workflows and get paid for hours or retainers. That's the Solutions Partner track.
Some firms do both through different parts of the business: a content team that earns affiliate commission and a services team that implements. That's fine. Just don't put an affiliate link in front of a client you're also billing for implementation. HubSpot and the client will both notice.
Other partner programs HubSpot people join
If HubSpot is your main ecosystem, these sit close to it:
| Program | Partner types | Terms | Model |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pipedrive | Affiliate | 20% revenue share for first 12 months (Rising); 30% (Growth, 2-5 sales/month for 6 months); custom (Power, 6+ sales/month) | Recurring |
| Close | Affiliate, Agency, Integrator / MSP | 30% of first-year revenue | Revenue share |
| Zoho | Reseller, Distributor, Integrator / MSP | On request | — |
| monday.com | Reseller, Referral partner, Agency | On request | — |
| ActiveCampaign | Agency, Reseller, Referral partner | On request | — |
| Mailchimp | Agency, Referral partner | On request | — |
| AiSDR | Referral partner, Agency, Affiliate | On request | — |
The AiSDR partnership is worth a look for HubSpot shops. It sells AI sales-development tooling into the same buyers.
