Most teams looking for a FirstPromoter alternative want one of three things: a cheaper plan at their revenue level, payouts that run without someone pressing a button, or features beyond affiliate links, like resellers or deal registration. For the first, PromoteKit ($29) and Tolt ($69 up to $10,000) undercut FirstPromoter at some tiers. For the second, Rewardful, Tolt and Partnero offer managed or automatic payouts for a fee. For the third you're looking at a partner platform: PartnerStack, Kiflo or PartnersWatch, which is our product.

Before switching, know what FirstPromoter does well, because some of it is hard to replace. Its pricing page names five billing integrations (Stripe, Paddle, Chargebee, Recurly and Braintree), more than any other tracker we checked. Multi-level commissions up to three levels, W-9 / W-8BEN collection and the API are on every plan, and team members are unlimited.

All prices and features below come from each vendor's own site, read on 8 October 2026. They change, so check before you buy.

FirstPromoter's pricing, for reference

FirstPromoter prices on "the monthly revenue your affiliates generate, not your total revenue."

Plan Monthly Annual Affiliate revenue per month
Starter $49 $490 Up to $5,000
Business $99 $990 Up to $15,000
Enterprise $149 $1,490 Above $15,000

Starter also caps you at 1,000 affiliates and 3 campaigns, and leaves out a custom domain, one-click PayPal payouts and EU self-billed VAT invoicing. Business adds those. Managed auto payouts are Enterprise only, for SaaS, and need approval.

The pricing page shows no transaction fee. That's a real advantage over tools that take a cut of payouts.

Alternatives side by side

Rewardful $49/mo $7,500/mo affiliate revenue Stripe, Paddle PayPal and Wise mass payouts; Managed Payouts 3%

PartnersWatch (ours) Free (no payouts); Scale $799/mo 5 partners free; 500 on Scale Stripe, Paddle, Chargebee, Recurly PayPal, Stripe Connect, Wise or manual

Kiflo, a partner relationship management tool, is another option for channel programs; Core is $399 a month for 25 partners on a 12-month contract per its FAQ.

If FirstPromoter costs too much at your tier

Each tracker draws its revenue lines in different places, so the cheapest tool depends on where you sit. Here's the monthly bill at three levels of affiliate-driven revenue, on monthly billing:

Affiliate revenue per month FirstPromoter Rewardful Tolt (Basic, manual payouts) PromoteKit
$4,000 $49 $49 $69 $29
$9,000 $99 $99 $69 $29
$14,000 $99 $99 $99 Contact sales

So at $9,000 a month, Tolt Basic saves you $30 a month over FirstPromoter Business, which is $360 a year, as long as you're fine paying affiliates by hand. PromoteKit is cheapest up to $10,000, but it only works on Stripe and its Pro cap is lower. Above $15,000 a month FirstPromoter's $149 Enterprise is hard to beat on price: Rewardful's Enterprise starts at $149 too but its entry tier stops at $30,000, and Tolt's Pro is $199 up to $50,000.

Our honest read: switching to save $30 to $50 a month rarely pays for the migration work. Do it if you're also gaining something you need.

If you want payouts to run themselves

FirstPromoter's mass payouts work on all plans, but someone still approves and sends them, and managed auto payouts are Enterprise only. If the monthly payout run is eating a day of someone's time, these are the alternatives:

  • Rewardful's Managed Payouts is optional on every plan, charges 3%, and covers bank transfer, SEPA and wire as well as PayPal and Wise.
  • Tolt's automatic payouts start on Growth ($99) at 2%, and Growth also adds W-9 / W-8 collection and 1099 filing.
  • Partnero's managed payouts charge 7% and bundle the run into one invoice.

On $10,000 of monthly commissions, that's $300 at 3%, $200 at 2% and $700 at 7%. Compare it with the hours you spend now. For the tax side, which changed for 2026 (the 1099-NEC threshold is now $2,000), see affiliate tax forms.

FirstPromoter describes itself as affiliate management software for subscription businesses, covering affiliates, influencers and customer referrals. It doesn't list deal registration, reseller programs or partner training on its pricing page.

If your partners are agencies that register deals, resellers that bill the customer, or integration partners you co-sell with, you need a partner platform rather than a tracker:

  • PartnerStack has a B2B partner marketplace (its homepage FAQ says "131K+ active partners") and handles partner payouts. Prices aren't published. Our PartnerStack alternatives guide covers it in depth.
  • Kiflo publishes a Core price of $399 a month for 25 partners and focuses on onboarding, deal registration and commissions.
  • PartnersWatch (ours) covers affiliates plus resellers, white-label resale, deal registration, contracts and training on the Scale plan at $799 a month for up to 500 partners. It reads revenue from Stripe, Paddle, Chargebee and Recurly. That's about $650 a month more than FirstPromoter Enterprise, so it's only worth it if you'd use the channel features. For a pure affiliate program on Stripe, it isn't.

If you need a marketplace to find affiliates

FirstPromoter doesn't run a partner marketplace. Of the 412 programs in the PartnersWatch Network directory, only 4 take applications through FirstPromoter, against 126 through PartnerStack. That's a rough signal of where partners go looking, not a verdict on the software: Fireflies, Visme and Databox all run their programs on FirstPromoter.

Options if recruitment is the bottleneck: PartnerStack's marketplace; Reditus, whose Growth plan includes one AI affiliate search a month but no marketplace listing; or listing your program on our free Network directory, which any brand can do whatever software it uses.

What to check before moving

  1. Export affiliates, referral links, coupon codes and unpaid commissions. FirstPromoter's API is on every plan, so a scripted export is possible.
  2. Match commission rules. If you pay three-level commissions, ask the new vendor whether it supports them before you commit; we didn't see multi-level commissions on most of the other pricing pages in the table.
  3. Match billing integrations. Rewardful, Tolt and PromoteKit don't name Chargebee or Recurly on their pricing pages.
  4. Pay out everything owed on FirstPromoter before the switch, then start fresh balances in the new tool.
  5. Keep old links redirecting for at least the cookie window. The median among the 82 programs in our directory that state one is 90 days.
  6. Re-check how commission duration is set. A recurring commission capped at 12 months in one tool may default to lifetime in another.

For prices across twelve tools on one page, see affiliate software pricing 2026. For PartnersWatch against one tracker feature by feature, see PartnersWatch vs Rewardful.

These programs in our directory run on FirstPromoter:

Program Partner types Terms Model
Fireflies.ai Affiliate, Reseller Up to 30% recurring for 12 months Recurring
Visme Affiliate 25% of each transaction for 12 months Recurring
Databox Affiliate, Referral partner 20% recurring for 12 months Recurring
Grais Affiliate, Referral partner $25 per qualified paid customer Flat fee / bounty

FAQ

What is the best FirstPromoter alternative?

For most SaaS teams on Stripe it's Rewardful or Tolt, which cost about the same and differ mainly in revenue caps and payout options. PromoteKit is cheapest under $10,000 a month of affiliate revenue. If you need resellers or deal registration, look at a partner platform such as PartnerStack, Kiflo or PartnersWatch instead.

Is FirstPromoter better than Rewardful?

Neither is better across the board. Both start at $49 a month. FirstPromoter names more billing integrations (adding Chargebee, Recurly and Braintree) and includes three-level commissions on every plan. Rewardful's Starter covers more affiliate revenue ($7,500 vs $5,000) and offers optional Managed Payouts at 3% (checked 8 October 2026).

How much does FirstPromoter cost?

FirstPromoter costs $49 a month for up to $5,000 of affiliate-driven monthly revenue, $99 for up to $15,000 and $149 above that, or $490, $990 and $1,490 a year. The pricing page shows no transaction fee and offers a 14-day trial without a card (checked 8 October 2026).

Does FirstPromoter charge transaction fees?

Its pricing page lists no transaction fee or payout fee on any plan, as of 8 October 2026. Payment providers such as PayPal or Wise still charge their own fees. Managed auto payouts are Enterprise only and need approval.

Which FirstPromoter alternative works with Chargebee?

Partnero, Reditus, PartnerStack and PartnersWatch all name Chargebee. Of the Stripe-focused trackers, Rewardful and PromoteKit don't list it on their pricing pages, and Tolt's FAQ says it supports only Stripe and Paddle "at the moment", though another section of the same page mentions Chargebee.

Is it worth switching affiliate software to save money?

Usually not for $30 to $50 a month. A migration means re-creating links, moving partners and reconciling balances, and a mistake costs more in partner trust than the saving. Switch when you need something the current tool doesn't have, such as automatic payouts, a marketplace or channel features.
