What will a partner program return?
How the numbers are worked out
Every month, each active partner brings in the number of new customers you set. Each customer pays your average monthly revenue and cancels at your monthly churn rate, so older groups of customers shrink over time.
Commission is your percentage of each payment for the number of months you choose, or for the customer's whole lifetime if you enter 0. Enter 1 for a one-time bounty on the first payment. Running cost is a flat monthly amount for software and the time of whoever runs the program.
ROI is net return (revenue minus commission and running cost) divided by what you spent. Payback is the first month cumulative net turns positive. Revenue counts every customer partners sent, including ones you might have won anyway, so treat the result as an upper bound and start with a conservative referral rate.
